(1913 - 1989)
William Scott is one of the most successful artists ever to come out of Ulster. He began life in Scotland, but his Ulster father moved the family back to his home in Fermanagh when William was just a boy. His artistic talents were evident from a very young age and as a young man he went to study art in London. William became an influential figure in the 20th Century abstract art scene and his work was very sought after even during his lifetime - a level of success not many artists achieve.
William Scott is best known for his still life and abstract art. Many of his paintings feature cooking pots and pans and simple ingredients like fish and eggs.
